I'm Sitting in a Room (Ode to Alvin Lucifer)

I'm Sitting in a Room (Ode to Alvin Lucifer) is a sound device mediated by tape and open machine, exploring the relationship between time, memory and auditory perception through the degradation of physical media. This work pays tribute to Alvin Lucifer's "I'm Sitting in a Room", but presents the gradual degradation of sound in the analog recording medium through tape, forming audible traces of time. The work explores the transmission and memory of sound in space, and reflects on how individuals connect with the environment through sound.

Tape is not only a sound medium, but also a carrier of time and memory. The ever-diminishing sound reverberates through space, blurring the boundaries of time, space and identity.
